In December 1973, "Hsin-Shen Hall" was upgraded to "Hsin-Shen Temple" by God's order and the "Taichung Hsin-Shen Temple" was officially incorporated in the following year with Mr. Chin-Po Lai appointed as the Chairman.
Hidden in a quiet alley on Wei-Dao Road in north District of Taichung City, the sublime Hsin-Shen Temple stands in a midst of incense smoke. Although the iron shed, built as an extension from the main hall for additional space requirements blocks the view of the temple, the birds-eye view of the temple from the nearby buildings is still awesome and spectacular. The temple is a single-hall and dual-guard-chamber structure with a multi-layered, yellow-tiled roof and the entrance one level above the ground. Take a climb up the stairs towards the main hall, you will find stone lions and dragon pillars on both sides and the carving of a cloud dragon in the center. The statue of "Guan Shen Dijun" is worshipped in the main hall on the first floor. The reception counter at each side of the main hall serves visitors coming from time to time to visit the temple. The dining room and lecture halls are located right beneath the main hall on the ground level. The statue of "Shan Lin Kao Shan Di" is worshipped in the main hall on the second floor. A spacious worship pergola is built in front of the main hall where religious followers and students gather on festivals or exam seasons to pray for good luck and God's blessing. |
