The district is connected to the Eastern District in the East, Xitun and Western District to the West, Central District in the South, and Beitun in the north and houses a population of 147,644 people or 51,733 households spreading across 36 lanes and 835 neighborhoods.
The entire district is situated on a flat basin, consisting of villages and metropolitan areas. The downtown area is in the south while villages and residential areas occupy the North Eastern part of the district. In 1980, as part of the "Stage 4 Metropolitan Land Rezoning" project, the existing farming zones were reclassified as commercial and residential areas, becoming the new metropolitan area of the district. |
