The Taiwan Tourism Bureau, operated by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, is the main national government tourism promotion agency. It provides a wide range of information about Taiwan’s visitors’ attractions, recreation, accommodations, transportation, events, tours and other useful information.
The Tourism Bureau maintains a Travel Information Service Center in Taichung City. Facilities, information and services at the center include the handling of tourist inquiries. These include: domestic and international tourist pamphlets, an audio-visual room with domestic/foreign travel-related books, maps, brochures, news clippings, tapes and CD-ROMs and meeting rooms. The meeting rooms may be used by for seminars, promotions and other gatherings by travel agents, tour organizers and other relevant organizations.
The Travel Information Center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and is located at 95, GanCheng St., 1F, Nantun District, Taichung City and may be contacted, toll-free, at 0800-422-022, at (04) 2254-0809, or by fax at (04) 2254-5485.
